How do I... in Fons (our scheduling and billing system)?
Please see the how-to guides published by Fons here.
Can I still try a class before I sign up for membership? Yes! You can schedule a one-time demo drop-in class for $25 and apply that towards your initial tuition fee if you decide to join the membership afterwards!
What if I join in the middle of the month? No worries...your initial fee will be prorated to reflect the number of weeks you missed.
Is there a minimum time commitment? In order for your child to have the best class experience, a minimum membership commitment of TWO (2) months is required.
Do you still have a scholarship fund or payment plan? Yes! Visit our Tuition Assistance Application to learn more. Reach out to center director Megan Woods Held at MTMosaicMelodies@gmail.com with any questions.
What is included in my initial fee? Your initial fee (paid to complete registration) includes a non-refundable $25 annual membership fee plus tuition for your first TWO (2) months. (*The first month's tuition may be prorated, depending when during the month you register.) See here for current Membership Plan prices.
What if I need to cancel/freeze my membership? After your required 2 months of membership, you may cancel or freeze your membership as needed. At least thirty days notice is required to cancel by sending written notification to the center director at MTMosaicMelodies@gmail.com. Membership ends on the last day of the month following notification. If cancellation corresponds with the start of a new song collection, you will not receive the new songbook/CD. So, for example, we would just need you to send your notice to cancel/freeze by October 31 before the automatic payment comes out on November 1 for your membership to end on November 30. See here for cancel/freeze deadline dates. There are no refunds on monthly tuition if you missed the cancel/freeze deadline.
How will I be billed? All billing is done automatically on the 1st of every month using a credit card or ACH that we have on file. Each month you will be billed the tuition for the NEXT month. See here for a schedule for automatic billing. It is your responsibility to keep the credit card information up to date (you can make changes by logging in to your Fons account). There will be a $25 fee added to accounts if payment is not updated and made by the 10th of the month.
Do classes run continuously? How are holidays handled? Classes will run each week unless specified on the Holiday Schedule below. All holidays are also marked on our calendar.
2024-2025 Holidays and Breaks
Labor Day: September 1 - September 2
Thanksgiving Holiday: November 26 - December 1
Winter Holiday: December 23 - January 3
Spring Holiday: April 15 - April 20
Memorial Day: May 24 - May 26
Mid-Summer Holiday: June 30 - July 6
Summer Camps: August 4 - September 1
40+ classes/calendar year, plus bonus events/parties.
UNLIMITED bonus classes while enrolled, as space is available.
Can I just join for one semester or session? Yes and no. While we will still follow the Music Together® Song Collections schedule, we no longer organize our classes into semesters/sessions, as we did in the past. Joining the Family Membership Plan is the only way to enjoy our Music Together classes on a regular basis. But you are in control of how long you want to be enrolled for and can cancel at any time after your minimum 2 month enrollment. So, for example, if you know you only want to join us for whichever Song Collection we are doing in the Fall (which begins in September and runs until the end of November), we would just need you to send your notice of cancellation by October 31 before the automatic payment comes out on November 1 for your membership to end on November 30. See here for cancel/freeze deadline dates. There are no refunds on monthly tuition if you missed the cancel/freeze deadline.
Class Policies:
Here is a list of class policies designed to keep our classes running smoothly and focused on making music!
-
PARTICIPATION: In this class it is very important for the adults to participate! The children learn their attitudes and motivations from you, and you can help them become enthusiastic music-makers just by enjoying the class and participating fully. You will be an excellent model regardless of your musical ability — a sense of fun is all that is required.
-
YOUR CHILD: Children have the amazing ability to teach themselves through play, and even the most well-meaning adult can disrupt that process by giving too much direction. Allow your child to experience the class in his or her own unique way… whether it’s by moving constantly, sitting and staring, tasting the instruments rather than playing them, etc. We know from working with hundreds of children over the years that each child is busily processing the musical information, even if it is not apparent during class activities. Trust this process, relax, and let your child be, and you will begin to see new musical behaviors emerging as the semester progresses.
-
TIMELINESS: Class begins and ends on time, and it is important for you to be prompt. It is often difficult for a child to enter a class already in session. Please make a point to be here for the Hello Song, so your child feels properly welcomed.
-
TOYS, FOOD, & DRINK: We prefer to keep our time together as musical as possible. We request that you leave toys at home so your child can focus on the class. Please feel comfortable to nurse or bottle feed your baby in class, but we ask that you keep food for older children outside of the classroom. We need to be courteous to the locations where we hold classes and want their space to be free of crumbs. In addition, due to the large number of peanut allergies in young children, please do not bring any foods containing peanuts to class. Water in closed cups can be kept in your bag for a "quick sip" if necessary.
-
GUESTS: There is never a charge for visiting adults! Unregistered siblings or visiting children may accompany your registered child once free of charge; thereafter there is a $15 guest fee per visit. Please contact us prior to bringing another child to class. Due to the class size restrictions, we can only allow other children if we know there is space in the class.
-
CAMERAS: You are welcome to take occasional pictures or videos of your child! These pictures will be a great reminder of the memories that you are making with your child. Please be respectful of other families who may not wish to be in your photo or video if you plan to share on social media. We love to see pictures or video in the private Facebook group!
